Hello, I'm

Eddie Dugan

I'm a software engineer and consultant based in San Diego. I started High Valley Labs to work directly with teams and individuals on problems I find genuinely interesting: performance, developer experience, and shipping software that actually works.

Background

I've spent the past decade building products at companies like Google, Facebook, and Uniswap Labs. At Facebook, I worked on Dating and Stories, shipping React Native features and running growth experiments. At Uniswap, I've owned frontend platform work—migrating build systems, improving performance, and maintaining the web app that handles billions in transactions. Before that, I was the first engineer at NFT.com, where I built their product from prototype to launch. Lately, I've been deep in AI tooling—helping businesses integrate and operationalize AI in ways that actually stick.

Why High Valley Labs

I went independent because I wanted to pick my projects and work closely with people who care about craft. San Diego is home, and I like helping local businesses alongside remote teams.

Working With Me

I'm responsive and honest. I won't waste your time with unnecessary process or pad estimates. I'd rather ship something small that works than talk about shipping something big that doesn't.

Outside of Work

When I'm not writing code, I'm usually hiking, climbing, or camping somewhere in Southern California. I'm also into mycology—I built MycoLib to scratch that itch.
